History

An unusually playful family

It is difficult to say how long we have taken play very seriously. But one thing we do know – when Grandpa Georg drew his Micki character back in 1944, all the siblings were quick to get involved.

The manufacturing took place in premises in Gemla's old industrial area, and everyone helped to the best of their ability. And so Firma Micki Leksaker was born, with a small wooden figure and the dream of passing on a little playfulness.

Today, Micki is managed by the third generation of Aronssons. The premises in Gemla have been replaced with a modern factory, but we have kept many things exactly the way they were from the beginning. And we still have the urge to play! And our values: Quality, safety and responsibility, are still our cornerstones. Which naturally includes a commitment to the environment. Our toys can be passed down from older brother to little sister and on to the next generation. This is one way in which we reduce our environmental impact. Others include using our own sawdust (waste from production) to heat our premises, and driving green vehicles.

Social commitment is also of utmost importance to everyone here at Micki. For a number of years now, we have worked in close cooperation with SOS Children's Villages in the Central African Republic. We are also contributing towards building the two Astrid Lindgren Children's Villages there.

Micki has grown and developed significantly in recent years. We work in close cooperation with Swedish designers and are continuing to develop new, fun toys. We continue to be an unusually playful family with perhaps the most amusing job in the world!
